Design Concept
Original Sketch
This is my first designed typeface. It is still a work in progress as I would like to add lowercase and basic punctuation marks to the final set. This particular style of typeface would be considered display type, since it would be best used for headings and titles. My goal is to eventually turn this typeface into a usable font.
Inspiration for this design comes from the typography styles used in the 1920s, during the art deco period. In this period, letterforms were made up of a combination of thick and thin line strokes and geometric shapes. I believe this style has a certain elegance and personality that mixes both modern and vintage aesthetics.
